According to BBC, the 26-year-old joined Wolves for £15 million last summer after playing for Bundesliga club Stuttgart. The Austrian attacker wasn’t able to make an early impression, which disappointed Wanderers supporters. In his debut game for the team, Kalajdzic ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, forcing him to miss the whole campaign. Over the course of the whole Premier League season, the former Stuttgart attacker played for fewer than 45 minutes, according to FBref.

According to Transfermarkt, Kalajdzic has only played 16 minutes in England’s top division this season because manager O’Neil prefers Portuguese number nine Fabio Silva.

signed for a £35 million price. After a year away from the game, Kalajdzic may naturally be lacking in match fitness, but he has consistently shown that he is more than capable of scoring goals. Before moving to England, Kalajdzic played in 51 games and scored 22 goals for the Bundesliga.

After Kalajdzic scored the game-winning goal against Everton, O’Neil was all praise for him.

“I believe he has put forth a lot of effort since I have been here. He is undoubtedly still working toward regaining his previous level of fitness. At the present, he cannot play for 90 minutes every single week, but with Hugo and our timely arrivals, I believe he made some excellent crosses.

Journalist Jones has now talked about the possibility of Kalajdzic starting over Silva in the near future.

What has Jones stated on Kalajdzic and the Wolves?
Although young Silva is a talented player, Jones has implied that he anticipates Kalajdzic to be selected ahead of him very soon. However, the journalist continues, Wolves will need to take use of his advantage in the air by bringing offensive players near to him.

“I think Wolves now have to make sure that they have other players near enough to Kalajdzic on the field that they can pick up the bits and pieces that he could knock down. I won’t deny Fabio Silva’s skill because he is a pretty talented player, but I predict that Kalajdzic will soon be selected before him.
