Potential injury on Poland duty indicated by Jan Bednarek’s replacement

During Poland’s 2-0 loss against Albania, SAINTS defender Jan Bednarek was taken off early due to a suspected injury.

The international center-back contributed significantly to his nation’s triumph over the Faroe Islands the previous time out.

However, his performance against Albania on Sunday in European Championship qualification only lasted 34 minutes when he was had to leave the game.

When he was ejected with the score at 0-0, Bednarek was receiving acclaim for his play.

For Saints boss Russell Martin, the 27-year-old has started each game of the Championship season. On Friday, September 15, Leicester City will visit St. Mary’s.

As long as his management supports him, Joe Aribo’s lack of playing time at Southampton doesn’t seem to have an impact on his chances of playing for his country.

This season, the former Rangers midfielder has made just four appearances for Saints in the Championship, playing a total of 33 minutes. It follows a season in which both he and his club battled in the Premier League and ultimately were relegated, with the 27-year-old sitting on the sidelines for much of those games.

However, he keeps being called up by Nigeria, and today, when they defeated Sao Tome & Principe 6-0, he served as a substitute for the final 26 minutes. Jose Peseiro, the manager, is pleased that Aribo would stay on the team despite his difficulties at the club level.

“What I can say is that he doesn’t play too much in the club, yes,” he said, according to AllNigeriaSoccer. But I have faith in him. Not

all players, however there are few that I believe have talent and ability even if they don’t play for the team.

He didn’t have much time, but he still played, of course. Every weekend, my team and I watch 40 to 50 games, and in the middle, when teams are playing in UEFA competitions, we watch them live on television. He’s in terrific shape to play with us if he’s here.
