The reason behind Nottingham Forest’s defender’s absence against Burnley comes from Man City’s hopeful outlook.
The most recent Nottingham Forest news is a 1-1 Premier League match between Steve Cooper’s Reds and the Clarets.
For Saturday’s trip to Manchester City, Nottingham Forest is hoping that defender Willy Boly will be able to compete.
Illness prevented the center-back from playing in Monday night’s 1-1 draw with Burnley. He did, however, watch his colleagues play at the City Ground, and he is anticipated to participate in practice leading up to the weekend match at the Etihad Stadium.
Both midfielder Danilo and fullback Serge Aurier were injured against the Clarets, therefore head coach Steve Cooper was also without them. However, Anthony Elanga had returned from a slight injury sustained while serving with the international team to take his position in the starting XI.
Cooper remarked of Boly, “He unfortunately missed out due to illness.” He did work out on the first day back after the international break, but a few days later he became unwell and was completely incapacitated.
He visited us, and now he feels better. He’ll work out when we next take a trip. He had been playing extremely well for us, so it was sad.
Against Vincent Kompany’s squad, Cooper resorted to a four-man defense with Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna at center back. Felipe was not active but has been making progress in his comeback from a knee issue, while Moussa Niakhate was an unutilized replacement.
Zeki Amdouni’s first goal in the first half put the Reds down. However, Callum Hudson-Odoi, making his debut, equalized well to give the hosts a point after the interval.
