Sources: News Ranger boss revealed as announcement of major appointment imminent
As far as TEAMtalk is aware, Philippe Clement has emerged victorious in the competition to take over as Rangers’ new manager, and an announcement is anticipated soon.
Clement is rumored to have been competing with former Gers great Kevin Muscat as the front-runner for the position. The Scottish Premiership team is nearing the conclusion of selecting Michael Beale’s replacement.
The 49-year-old Clement has now been given the go-ahead to assume the position after impressing the team throughout the recruiting process, as reported by TEAMtalk. The Belgian “has got the job,” according to insider sources who have informed us this.
Al-Shabab of the Saudi Professional League has also shown interest in Clement, although they had always anticipated that he would accept the Rangers position.
Following a dismal start to the new season that saw the Ibrox club considerably below Celtic’s pace at the top of the Scottish Premiership and eliminated from the Champions League before the group stages even started, Beale was fired on October 1 after 307 days in command at Ibrox.
Top target Julen Lopetegui turned down the opportunity to speak with Rangers, and Graham Potter, the former manager of Brighton and Chelsea, made it clear he wasn’t interested in being taken into consideration.
It is understood that Nenad Bjelica, a Croatian manager who just resigned from his role as Trabzonspor’s manager, also entered the race for the open post very late.
The Turkish team is currently ranked eighth in the Super Lig standings. Bjelica was named manager of the team in April 2023, but he was fired on October 10. Throughout his career, he has coached a number of European teams, including Dinamo Zagreb and Lech Poznan.
But, we’ve been informed that Clement, a former Coventry defender, has emerged victorious in the struggle to secure the starting job

A last-minute candidate for Rangers manager, Igor Biscan, emerges
Remarkably, The Sun reports that Igor Biscan, a former Liverpool defender, has entered the race to coach Rangers as a late contender.
Only four months after being employed, and after winning the Croatian league title, Biscan, 45, was let go by Croatian powerhouse Dinamo Zagreb in August. The publication revealed on Saturday night, October 14, that Biscan is looking for a managerial position in the United Kingdom.
Though it is known that Biscan was “on the shortlist for the Rangers role,” it is doubtful that he will be recruited despite being mentioned as a contender at this late distance.
By Monday night’s end of play, Kevin Muscat or Philippe Clement will be named Michael Beale’s replacement, according to Rangers Review writer Chris Jack in an interview.
Bican hasn’t been discussed previously, so it’s unexpected to see a name tossed into the hat this late in the process.
After a playing career that saw him win the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, Biscan hung up his boots in 2012 and transitioned into management.
Rudes, Olmipja Ljubljana, Rijeka, Croatia’s Under-21 team, and, most recently, Dinamo Zagreb have all been under his leadership.
He won the Slovenian league and cup double with Olimpia in 2017–18, then in 2018–19, he won the Croatian Cup with Rijeka.
After leading Croatia’s Under-21 team for four years, Biscan was brought back to club management in April when he was appointed to take Ante Čačić’s position after the latter was fired due to a loss in the Croatian Cup semifinals.
After that, Biscan finished the season and assisted Dinamo in winning the Croatian league championship, but he was strangely fired in August after Dinamo’s Champions League qualification match loss to Greek champions AEK Athens.
Given his background in winning titles in a competitive European league and his connections to Liverpool, one of the best Premier League clubs, he would have been a suitable match at Rangers.
ace at Ibrox.
Regarding other Rangers news, on his past performances, the former Croatian defender could be able to secure a position in British football in the near future
It just will not take plris Boyd has communicated to the incoming manager of the team what his first move as manager should be doing at Ibrox.
