Rangers take on Aberdeen this weekend and whilst revenge might not be the primary focus, it will certainly be at the back of the minds of those who failed so miserably earlier in the season.

Three players Rangers could do with in Aberdeen squad

The 3-1 defeat at Ibrox was the final straw for the board with Michael Beale relieved of his duties as the Gers manager.

A host of chances were missed at 0-0, however, Rangers were undone by an Aberdeen side that were energetic and clinical, qualities that were lacking before Philippe Clement arrived, but who impressed enough to be considered as potential transfer targets?

Rangers could cherry pick Aberdeen’s best players
The Rangers squad needs some tinkering, so what not look around the Scottish Premiership with players who could do a job for Philippe Clement, starting with our next opponents?

Connor Barron

Rangers have missed out on enough young, talented Scottish players in recent years and signing Connor Barron on a pre-contract agreement from Aberdeen is a no brainer.

The natural heir to Ryan Jack, he has added composure and intelligence to his previous all action style of play.

Bojan Miovski

Put it another way, would you swap the North Macedonia international for Cyriel Dessers?

He’s been a great find by the Aberdeen recruitment team and is as good a player outside of the Old Firm as you will get, it’s little wonder he has been recommended in the past.

At 24-years old and their star player though, they wouldn’t sell him cheap.

Slobodan Rubezic

There is something very raw about the 6ft 5inch tall centre-half but there is definitely something there to work with.

At 23-years old, he has a lot of time to develop further into his position and has just been capped by Montenegro.

Think an even bigger and more physical Nikola Katic in that he needs to work on his passing but, on his day, he is almost unbeatable.

There are other players like Duk, who has been mentioned in the past, however, his form has tailed off this season.

Leighton Clarkson is another who has impressed whenever Rangers have faced Aberdeen and he was another who was loosely said to be a possible transfer target in the summer before making his loan move permanent at Pittodrie.

Barry Robson has been struggling of late but it is as good a squad as they have had in recent years with a core at the perfect age to develop and sell on.

They will be keen to impress against Rangers, probably in the hope that they get to move away from Aberdeen.
