Reading FC transfers: Three free agents available in window

Making nine additions so far, boss Reuben Selles has hinted that another two could be over the line before 11pm on Friday.

Of course, with Reading’s current transfer embargo limiting paying fees, it is only really loan deals impacted by the

close of the window.

Free agents can be signed all year round.

Take a look below at three free agents Reading could look at, including two former Royals.

Firstly and most importantly, we feel the Royals need a LB. With Nestas future up in the air and Carson being young

and inexperienced, free agent George Cox would be an ideal pickup to fill that gap.

With Reading seemingly keen on shifting Nesta Guinness-Walker, and Matt Carson still not ready for a 46-game

league slog, a new left-back could be required.

Cox is a free agent after making over 100 Eredivisie appearances for Fortuna Sittard.

With an academy education with Brighton and Hove Albion, the 25-year-old has not played in the EFL since a five-

game stint at Northampton Town in 2018/19.

Maybe a move back to home soil could be tempting?

Tariqe Fosu

Someone with 13 years as a Royal under their belt but just one first-team appearance, Fosu is a popular figure for

Reading fans.

A pacy winger who threatened to burst onto the scene a decade ago but never did, Fosu has been to the Premier

League and back since departing Berkshire.

However, he now finds himself on the market after being released by Brentford.

Spending the second half of last season on loan with Rotherham United, including making an appearance at the SCL

Stadium, the winger scored once in 19 appearances.

Maybe the 27-year-old could be tempted ‘home.’
