TRANSFER UPDATES: Celtic’s transfer timeline has already been set by Wolves boss, he has finally broken the silence by what he said….

Daniel Podence to Celtic transfer timeline has already been set by Wolves boss Gary O’Neil in ‘move quickly’ confession

It was a quick start to life at Molineux for O’Neil – and that could impact on Podence’s potential move to Parkhead.

GW3 Differentials: Daniel Podence

Wolves boss Gary O’Neil has stated that he plans to give Daniel Podence a chance to stake a claim for a spot in his first-team squad.

But that doesn’t appear to have slowed the chances that a deal to Celtic could be on – with the Molineux gaffer

admitting things could “move quickly” with a potential exit from the English Premier League side. The 27-year-old

winger is on Brendan Rodgers radar Irishman looks to bolster his attacking options with the Portuguese star – who

has been touted with a £12million to move to the Scottish Premiership champions.

However, former Bournemouth manager O’Neil has openly stated he is still assessing his options having been named

as Julen Lopetegui’s replacement just days before the opening game of the campaign against Manchester United.

And that position could see Rodgers made to wait if he hopes to snap up the Wolves fringe man this summer.

Asked about Podence and his Wolves teammates Jonny Castro Otto and Goncalo Guedes potentially leaving the club

this summer, O’Neil told Express and Star: “I’m looking at all of them. Things move quickly in transfer windows and

things can change, but they’re training with the group and are giving everything.

“Both Jonny and Podence have trained really well. Guedes is doing a little bit of rehab work on a small issue he has.

My focus is on what we have here. We have some incredible players, a real good group, a group that’s together which is important.”

Celtic are looking for a winger following the departure of Jota in a £25m move to Al Ittihad. His fellow countryman

could come in to replace him if Wolves drop their valuation – having splashed £17million to bring the star from

Olympiacos in 2020.
