Aston Villa boss Unai Emery sent selection warning ahead of Everton clash
Following their triumph over Chelsea in the Premier League, Aston Villa welcomes Everton in the Carabao Cup.
Gabby Agbonlahor, a former star for Aston Villa, thinks Unai Emery has “learned from his mistakes” and will start a very good lineup
against Everton. Agbonlahor, the record scorer for Villa and a regular on talkSPORT, informed listeners of the morning show that the
fans would be demanding a solid run in all competitions due to their dissatisfaction with recent cup results.
It would be interesting to see if the manager attempts to offer playing time to some of the squad’s fringe players after Villa’s 1-0 away
victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Agbonlahor said: “I think Emery has learned his lesson after the side lost their first game in
Europe by changing their team a little. The fans are tremendously dissatisfied.
“I think Emery has learned his lesson and he will go really strong against Everton. I think he will try and win a trophy. It’s been too
long for Villa fans and I think he will want to win this, definitely.”
On the latest episode of the Claret & Blue podcast, John Townley and Dan Rolinson discussed the age-old debate about how much
rotation is ‘ too much’ rotation?
Should Emery start the game with a strong lineup before making adjustments in the second half, or would a rotated lineup still be
enough to defeat a faltering Everton – It is really difficult to get the perfect balance.
