UNEXPECTED ANNOUNCEMENT: Celtic Boss Brendan Rodgers have announce an emergency leave after…

Jose Mourinho ought to take over as Celtic’s manager after Brendan Rodgers steps down.

TalkSPORT expert Shebahn Aherne expressed this opinion, saying that The Special One will “spice up” the Scottish Premiership. She pointed out that Irishman Rodgers is under increasing pressure after the Hoops lost ground to Rangers and dropped out of the league summit. Following losses to rivals Lazio and AC Milan earlier this season, the Portuguese manager was let go by Roma, and he is currently unemployed.
Even though the 61-year-old had previously guided the team to back-to-back European finals in the Conference League and the Europa League, which he would win in 2022, the Rome giants made the decision to part ways with him with the team in ninth place in Serie A. Aherne again performed the deal’s math, reiterating that the contract would not be beyond the Hoops’ means of financing.
Aherne remarked, “It’s a good idea. He’s a legend who is currently in his 60s, and I believe he might liven up the Scottish Premiership. The notion that Jose Mourinho would be engaged in the Old Firms rivalry versus Rangers might, in my opinion, be absolutely magical and also provide them with a chance to compete in Europe.

Atletico Madrid vs Celtic: Brendan Rogers press conference

“The [s***]housery would be real, it would be utter chaos and we like to see that. Okay, there’s lines to the chaos here but I do think that there’s something in it there.”

Speaking on his previous job, she added: “You look at the job that Jose did at Roma, the proud moments that it brought for him over his career, Celtic is a massive club all over the world, a world-renowned club.

“And then we talk about money, would they be able to afford him? You look at what he earned at Roma, it was around about €6million the salary over the year, [Brendan Rodgers is on] about £3-3.5million but we all know the cost of living is a little bit cheaper in Glasgow.”

The host then noted that Celtic had reportedly approached the boss back in 2021 when he left Tottenham. She added: “He actually spoke about Brendan Rodgers, his first stint at Celtic, and how he credited the job that he’d done at the club. So he does have eyes on Celtic, he is aware of the club and the stature.”

Despite the ambitious dossier being detailed on air, it appears that Celtic are in no rush to change the man in the dugout. Rodgers will be looking to surge towards the title despite recent stumbles.
