Justin Jefferson Details His Current Injury Status

Justin Jefferson #18 of the Minnesota Vikings warms up before the game against the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium on September 11, 2022 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Minnesota Vikings were having a disaster of a season through the first five games.

They had a record of 1-4 and just lost wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a hamstring injury.

It seemed like the Vikings were headed for a lost season.

Then things started to click for them.

Minnesota has won four straight games and now has a 5-4 record on the season.

Even with quarterback Kirk Cousins done for the year, the Vikings still have hope they can make the playoffs.

One reason is the addition of Josh Dobbs at quarterback.

The Vikings traded for him from the Arizona Cardinals and Dobbs helped lead the Vikings to a comeback victory last week.

Also, the Vikings are close to welcoming their best player back into the lineup.

Jefferson had his 21-day practice window activated for him to return from injured reserve.

According to Adam Schefter, Jefferson is unsure when he will return but wants to be 100% when he does.

Now that the Vikings are back in playoff contention, Jefferson is needed back in the lineup.

He can help take their offense up a level, and give Dobbs an elite pass catcher.

The last thing the Vikings need is Jefferson coming back too soon and re-injuring himself.

Even if it takes a few more weeks the team should be very careful with their cornerstone player.

Minnesota may not be Super Bowl contenders without Cousins.

But, they can at least be a playoff team in a weak NFC conference.a
