Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Newcastle United, has talked on Sandro Tonali’s abrupt dismissal from the Italian national team.

After Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo were abruptly discharged from international service, Italy manager Luciano Spalletti swore to assist the two players. After being questioned by police who are looking into possible criminal betting operations, the two have been advised to return to Newcastle United and Aston Villa, respectively.

At the Coverciano training facility, Tonali and his compatriot were taken out of Italy’s training program and interrogated by the Office of the Public Prosecutor of Turin. Days after Nicolo Fagioli, a great player for Juventus, was accused of unlawful betting, authorities launched an investigation.

When questioned about the event on Friday, Spalletti told Sky Italia, “It was a tough night.” “When you have to get results, there’s always anxiety. It was unique, and a great deal of resentment stems from what transpired.

“They are dear to the entire crew. We really apologize. With them in the public eye, we will keep on supporting them. Justice must be allowed to proceed as it should. In the event that something atypical occurred, compensation will be appropriate. We make an effort to support their self-defense.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) feels that Tonali and Zaniolo were not in the proper “condition” to participate in Italy’s two next Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England, even if it is still unknown why the players were being questioned in connection with the inquiry. The two have already been replaced in the team by Stephan El-Shaarawy of Roma and Samuele Ricci of Torino.

“Even if we lost two champs, our squad is still extremely good. I look forward to having them return as soon as possible. However, the others are as good. Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who stopped Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Newcastle earlier this month, has expressed similar sentiments to the manager of his country’s national side. Captain Donnarumma said to Sky Sport Italia, “These were difficult hours.”

In terms of sports, it is unfortunate to lose two competent players who could have assisted us, but on a personal level, we are connected to them. As the coach puts it, we will constantly be around them.
