West Brom transfer news as goalkeeper Brad Foster sent out on loan
West Brom have announced that goalkeeper Brad Foster has been sent out on loan to Alvechurch.
Albion confirmed the news on their official Twitter account on Thursday [5 October], while wishing the keeper good luck.
The 22-year-old has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Alvechurch on an initial 28-day deal.
Foster joined West Brom earlier this year and has also spent time out on loan with Rushall Olympic this season.
Valuable minutes
It is tough to tell at this stage exactly what Foster’s long-term prospects are at The Hawthorns.
The Englishman has previously featured on the substitutes’ bench for former club Derby County, but he is nowhere
near the matchday picture for West Brom right now.
Aged 22, Foster has yet to make a senior appearance and is now – temporarily, at least – plying his trade in non-league.
With the likes of Alex Palmer, Ted Cann and Josh Griffiths ahead of him in the goalkeeping pecking order, Foster’s
chances of impressing are limited.
But some regular football elsewhere, regardless of what level it is at, will at least give him the opportunity to show
what he is capable of.
Who knows? A couple of years down the line, this loan move may be used to highlight just how far Foster has come in
a short space of time.
