It Wasn’t That Clear – Norwich City Out On Loan Star Asked For Penalty Permission

Christos Tzolis, a star on loan from Norwich City, has acknowledged asking his Fortuna Dusseldorf

teammates if he might take the penalty against Hannover.

The 21-year-old winger left Norwich to join second-tier German side Fortuna Dusseldorf on a season-long loan in the summer.

He has scored six times in six appearances for the club and has made an instant impact in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.

In his second league appearance, the forward converted a penalty in a 5-0 win over SV Elversberg away from home.

However, he was more cautious when a penalty was given against Hannover, with Fortuna Dusseldorf trailing 1-0, and admits he had

to ask his team-mates for permission.

The Norwich man claimed that he received the support of senior players who were happy to see him take the penalty.

Tzolis was quoted as saying by German daily Bild“Jordy de Wijs gave me the ball straight away.

“But it wasn’t that clear.

“I am young and fairly new to Fortuna.

“He [Felix Klaus] told me he would rather I did it.”

The penalty was scored and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tzolis will look to continue to enjoy a rich vein of form at Fortuna Dusseldorf during his loan spell.
