People Take Notice of Arch Manning’s Prediction Before the CFP National Championship
Following consecutive appearances to the College Football Playoff, quarterback Arch Manning is leading the Texas Longhorns into a new era. Texas finished the 2024 collegiate football season with a 13-3 record overall and a 7-1 SEC record. The Longhorns appear to be moving on from quarterback Quinn Ewers to Manning after the season.
Manning was left in charge of one of the most dominant collegiate football programs after Ewers announced his intention to enter the draft. Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney shared his prediction for Texas’ 2025 season as supporters get ready for the Manning era.
Despite losing to Ohio State in their season opener the following year, Gorney thinks Manning and the Longhorns will eventually speed up the pace and win a national championship for Texas. “My prediction is this: Texas loses next season’s opener against Ohio State (and the media has a field day with questions about Manning) and then the Longhorns run the table (we’ll see about the Georgia game) en route to another College Football Playoff run that ends with the title coming back to Austin,” Gorney told Rivals.

In Manning’s first season as the starting quarterback and the program’s second season in the SEC, the Longhorns might be headed for a title run, despite Gorney’s prediction that they will lose at Ohio State on August 30.
Although Manning hasn’t played much collegiate football, there are high expectations for the Texas quarterback, who has produced nine touchdowns, 939 yards, and a 66.3 completion percentage in two seasons as Ewers’ backup. He also added four touchdowns and 115 yards on the ground. The young star initially committed to the Longhorns as the top player in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports.
Some supporters shared their opinions about Texas’ possible 2025 national championship on social media after posting Gorney’s forecast.
“Same, but we beat Ohio St,” one supporter remarked. “Texas and Ohio State are both losing a lot of players. Texas, in my opinion, has a superior defense, and arch manning takes over. “12-0/11-1,” shouted another supporter. One fan said, “We’ll beat Ohio State.”
Of course there’s always a possibility Texas can win,” commented one fan. “That’s the story every year,” said one fan. “Adam Gorney, ball knower, gained a follower,” said another fan. While Manning and the Longhorns prepare for the road ahead, Ohio State and Notre Dame will face off in the national championship game on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
